How to play · Play 1000

Work together with internet strangers to count from 1 all the way to 1000. Sounds easy? It's not. One wrong number and everything resets to zero.

Players take turns entering consecutive numbers, starting from 1.
Each number must be exactly one more than the previous one.
You can't post two numbers in a row. Someone else has to go between yours.
A wrong number or an invalid format resets the count to 0. The higher you were, the harder the screen shakes.
At least 3 players are needed in a room before counting starts.
Reach 1000 and the room wins. Simple as that.

Not all counting is created equal. Each number system counts the same 1000 steps in its own alphabet.

There is no chat. The only thing you can send is the next number, so the count is the whole conversation.
Watch for typing indicators. If someone else is typing, wait your turn.
Resets hit harder the higher the count. Expect screen shake on devastating resets.
Share the room link to invite friends, or create a public room and let strangers join from the lobby.
Every correct number is a point, and a room that hits 1000 pays everyone in it 100. Claim a name for $2 to put your score on the leaderboard.
After a reset that lost 20 or more, the room gets CONTINUE? for nine seconds. Anyone in it with a coin can insert one and put the count back where it was.
